Eastcote House Gardens Wins Lottery Funding

The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) recently published its latest list of supported projects and announced that Eastcote House Gardens was successful in a bid for £1.28m to help restore the gardens and buildings.

The funding comes as part of the HLF's continued support of green spaces throughout the country, with 11 projects across England receiving much needed funding to help restore and regenerate parks and green spaces. Eastcote House Gardens was one of 4 successful bids in London. The grant means that plans for the regeneration of Eastcote House Gardens, including the restoration of the stables and dovecote, and a brand new tea room, can now begin to be put into action.

The funding, a major success for Hillingdon Council, is unlikely to have been successful without the keen support of local volunteers and the "Friends of Eastcote House Gardens". Indeed, the Friends have been spearheading the funding campaign and raising their own funding, a crucial condition of any HLF bid.
