Eastcote House Gardens Wins Chrysalis Funding

Eastcote House Gardens has successfully fought off competition from 5 other short-listed projects in Hillingdon to scoop funding from the Chrysalis programme.

The programme, which offers financial support for eligible projects in the borough, enabled residents to vote on their favourite two projects to receive funding. Eastcote House Gardens stormed to victory with an incredible 1080 votes, almost double of second placed Sanctuary Close in Harefield. The victory also showed that Eastcote are leading the way in online communications in the borough, with a staggering 99% of the votes (1073) being made through the online voting system. Had Eastcote Library not been closed during refurbishments, the total number of votes received could have been much higher.

Eastcote House Gardens was nominated for the Chrysalis funding programme in March at the first 'Your place, Your priorities' meeting, which were held all over the borough. The nomination made it to the shortlist by meeting a set of eligibility requirements. The funding will go towards new seating areas within the gardens to enable more people of all ages to spend more time there, taking in the pleasant surroundings. In addition to the seating, a new notice board will also be installed to provide information on the range of flora that can be found in the grounds.

Unfortunately Eastcote Hockey & Badminton Club failed to secure the funding they had hoped for to help preserve grass surfaces through the installation of bollards.
