Eastcote Christmas Festival 2012

The Eastcote Christmas Festival is Hillingdon's premier Christmas event, and this year promises to be bigger & better than ever, with new features including a festive craft market, Santa's Grotto & Workshop.

Presented by the Eastcote Festival Team, the event is an ideal opportunity for some festive family fun, offering unique Christmas gift ideas and entertainment for children and adults alike.

New Metropolitan Fleet Rolled Out

Today saw an important milestone for the SSR Upgrade, Fleet and Train Operations teams with the Metropolitan line service completely met by the new S8 fleet.

This milestone has been reached in good time for the Olympics and is a great achievement through collaborative working with Upgrades, Fleet and Train Operations teams to get the 57 S8 trains delivered into London and fully commissioned in time for the Olympics.

Jubilee Gates Formally Unveilled


On 28th June, to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the magnificent new Jubilee Gates were formally opened at the entrance to Eastcote House Gardens, on Eastcote High Road.

The ribbon was cut by Lesley Crowcroft, Chair of the Friends of Eastcote House Gardens in the presence of the Mayor of Hillingdon, Michael Markham and the Leader of Hillingdon Council, Ray Puddifoot.

Jubilee Picnic Highlights

Amidst the excitement, street parties and festivities during the Queen's Diamond Jubilee weekend, thousands flocked to Eastcote House Gardens on Saturday 2nd June to celebrate the occasion.

The Jubilee Orchard was dedicated by The Mayor of Hillingdon following joint sponsorship by the Friends of Eastcote House Gardens and the people of Eastcote. He also presented the Hinman Shield to the 5th Eastcote Beaver Colony for their involvement with conservation work at Eastcote House Gardens.

Get Up Close & Personal With Olympic Fighter Jets

RAF Northolt have kindly offered members of the local community a chance to visit the station, pivotal in a defensive role during this Summer's coming Olympic games, as a thank-you for their continued support and tolerance during essential training operations.

The Eastcote Residents' Association are delighted to invite members to take part in a truly one-off event, and get up close and personal with the latest cutting-edge fighter aircraft before they return to their home stations later next week.

The event, being held on Thursday 10th May, offers residents the chance to get an exclusive guided tour of the aircraft which will be responsible for the safety of millions this summer. Choosing one of two sessions; 9:00am - 10:30am or 11:00am - 12:30pm, guests will be escorted to the airfield to view Eurofighter Typhoon fast jets.

You will also need to tell us which of the two sessions you'd like to attend - No later than midday on Monday 7th May.

Please note that vehicles will not be permitted onto the RAF station and it is strongly advised that, if you need to travel some distance, that you use public transport. Also, all attendees will require photo ID to confirm their booking.

Unfortunately the event only has a limited number of spaces, and it is expected that there will be great demand for this event. If demand outstrips the allocation we have been provided, we reserve the right to select attendees on "first-come, first served basis".
